ABOUT US

Raha is a Swahili word that means “feel good

Raha tours is a locally owned and operated company based in Tanzania and thus do not engage the services of any intermediaries. We conduct all of our tours ourselves, with the assistance of experienced guides. We believe that the guide makes a safari, we have therefore dedicated all our efforts into building a team of guides that we can proudly say are the best of the best: Extremely professional and experienced but at the same time cheerful, talkative, funny and as flexible as it gets. We will always go the extra mile to make your journey unforgettable from the first time you contact us until it’s time to say goodbye. We guarantee you the highest end customer care, high-end equipment, and amazing vehicles. But that’s still not all…

In a world where things increasingly become commodities, especially services, the real differentiator becomes the personal experience you are able to create in the lives of your customers

STEVE JOBS

Our belief in tailored, people-driven services drives us to demand (and maintaining) high standards from each of our guides. From inception, we’ve always given top priority to find the best human resource to work with. A safari depends on so many factors but if the guide is right, the experience is guaranteed. After all, a guide can make the difference between a nice tour and a once in a lifetime experience one shall never forget. We have a different approach to safaris and it is inscribed our DNA. A safari should not be just a lifestyle experience with a list of animals to tick off from a list. There is beauty in the tiniest of details. We embrace those small moments: Going out of the beaten track to where there are no vehicles, slow down and spend time watching animals to your hearts fill. A safari should be about the feelings it provides, the experience of being out there in the wild witnessing nature as it is, with no rush. We are deeply committed to contributing to Tanzania’s society, and we honor this commitment by cooperating closely with the local population and by including local projects.

THE SAFARI JEEPS

-Raha Tours’ rugged four-wheel-drive safari jeeps are almost invariably Toyota Land Cruisers, converted into safari vehicles by a specialized coachworks company. We have both standard and extended vehicles to use according to the number of participants. This means that some of them are stretched to seat 8 instead of 6, each participant will always have a window seat and the top of the windows is raised for a better panoramic view, and the roof is replaced by a large pop-up roof to allow you to stand up straight to film or take pictures. Our 4×4 safari vehicles are outfitted with coolers to keep drinks cold and refreshing, charging stations for electronics and radios for your guide to communicate as needed. Finally, the vehicles are spray-painted in a classic safari color, seat covers are installed, the Raha-Tours logo is painted on the vehicles, and the Raha Tours hubcaps are mounted. Safari Njema! (Have a pleasant journey!)
